I had a small agenda there to take care of and was hoping to see a friend of mine at the Vatican. I was so happy to see my friend the Sister and we got to visit a little while. I wanted to see where Pope John Paul II had been entombed also. Later in the afternoon we had gotten tickets for the Caravaggio Exhibition which was wonderful.
Visited with a friend at her apartment before having a spectacular Roman dinner.
We had really enjoyed our time in Rome and then drove to Todi, a marvelous medieval town in the Umbria region. The following morning we drove to Assisi, which is the most unforgettable place. We went to the Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi. We visited the Church of Sante Chiara and drove to San Damiano.
We went to Perugia, Montelpulchiano and we are now in Sienna, Tuscany.
We are getting ready to see the Basilica of SanDomenico and San Gimingiano before driving to Florence.
I will write more when time and internet connections allow.
